Flexibility

Outsourcing Staff


The outsourced employee is offered as an alternative to an onsite employee at a fixed reduced rate. The normal associated overhead including human resources, cafeteria, work area, basic workstation, regular office supplies and government mandated benefits would all be included in the standard cost.

Any specialized equipment, software or other items of significance would be at additional cost.

This staffing solution could be offered in two models:

1) A dedicated named employee, the same as an onsite employee (averaging 30 hrs per week over the year). 2) An employee equivalent in work pool, with a named supervisor contact (averaging 30 hrs per week over the year).

Notes:

a) Teams could be structured as combinations of the above options

b) Staffing available on a contract basis per hour in the usual manner

c) All programmers have degrees in an appropriate discipline

d) Defining programmer levels would be done in the normal market manner

Marketing


The marketing of the outsourced employees could follow a passive response to demand or an active offer to substitute outsourcing alternatives to existing employees.

The passive offer allows the client to know the staffing solution is available is economical and can be implemented rapidly. An emphasis on addressing crisis situations where time and or funding are limited can be a more sensitive introduction. In some cases an active offer may be appropriate. The active offer could follow the model of detailing that the substitution of three standard employees with three outsourced staff results in a measured savings, more than enough to hire an additional manager or specialist in the domestic facility. Large employers would be encouraged to enter a trial program promptly to evaluate the positive aspects of the solution.
